John grew up in Lakeview, the eighth of nine children and graduated from New Orleans Academy where his father taught and coached from the early 1950s until the school’s closing in 1986.
He received his degree in Economics from UNO where he also worked in the Division of Business and Economic Research under Dr. Tim Ryan, John then became an associate of Jean Felts, for whom he appraised commercial real estate, the scope of which ranged from vacant land valuation to the determination of just compensation for owners of property involved in the convention center expansion.
After serving as general manager of a local janitorial and chemical supply company, John joined his brother’s business where he trained both teachers and students in desktop publishing software for the production of their annual yearbooks and assisted coaches with their athletic awards programs including letter jackets, patches and championship rings.
It was during this time when John met Tracie. In the evenings and weekends, he would serve as her unlicensed assistant. When their now 5 year old grandson came along, it only made sense for John to get his real estate salesperson and broker licenses to help conduct real estate business while they provided day care in Grayson’s formative years. With the grandchild in school, he can now focus full time on training and advising agents and helping them achieve their career goals and lead a life they love
